Today I went to my workplace as usual. Since I arrived earlier, I saw my two students, Karin and Fanny were playing swings at the mosque's park. I let them play and went on walking. Then, I heard them calling. I turned my head so I could see their faces, smiled, and continued walking. They were following me. They saw me wearing headset and tried to snatch it from me. Soon I ran away while trying to release that thing from my ear. Finally I met Mr.Sam and I gave it to him. Okay, what a start! I was thinking today would be harder than usual.
"Miss, let's read!", one of my students, Fanny took a storybook and sat down beside me.
Well, we were only looking at the pictures. Then Dum came. Fanny and Karin kept saying something like : 'What is that?' or 'This is you!' or any comments that made our activity was sooooo fun for me. Their comments are so..well..imaginative. I wasn't the one who read the stories for them, but they were making up the stories for me. Even Karin tried to draw a moustache on the face of every single character she met.
" I wanna pray, guys!", I told them. And then they were...following me. They accompanied me until I was about to enter the bathroom and warned them with a look in my eyes.
Today was the time for their English in school. We decided to study about 'Family Members'. After I wrote on the whiteboard, I told them to write about their family members. I read it after they had finished, and Subhanallah.. their family really had to read it. Dum kept saying that his father was the best, and also his mother. Sweet, isn't it? I put their papers on my bag. Maybe I would show them to their family. Dum's drawing was sweet also. He made a sea, and some fish in it. Each fish had a name. The names are his classmates in i-tutor, and one bigger fish with the name : Mr. and Miss on it.
And Fanny, Fanny oh Fanny.. she was sitting on my lap, and hugging me (and talking too at the same time, of course). She did it frequently, she kept coming back to me.
Time to end the class. I signed their reports and their points as usual. Well, talking about points..it reminds me of Dum. It happened maybe months ago. At that time he got a satisfactory score in English at his school. So, I rewarded him 77 points (one point paper). Ehem, so I signed his point paper 77 times. He was staying beside me while my hand began to numb. Then he said : "Miss, pegel ya? Itu tuh, jasa seorang guru namanya". I could answer it with nothing but a smile.
Before Karin left the room, she kissed my hand. But there was something different. She held my hand soooo long as it was really hard to let go. I could do nothing but staring at her. When I was about to go home, Karin pulled my hand.
Karin : "Miss, I'll take you home with me!"
Me : " What do you think I am? A souvenir?"
Karin : " Yep, and I will lock you in my bathroom."
Me: "O...kay?"
